In this guide, we show how to start streaming for the Storm Streaming Cloud service using the commercial software XSplit Broadcaster.
Video Tutorial
Connection setup
To connect XSplit to the Storm Streaming server (or Cloud service), select "Broadcast" from the top menu, then choose "Set up a new output", and then "Custom RTMP".
A popup window will appear with a list of connection settings. In the "Name" field, you can enter any name you like, such as "StormStreaming Cloud" next, you need to enter the link to your server in the "RTMP URL" and “Stream Key” fields. All these information can be found on the Summary page of Live Stream creator.
We will also need to enter the data required for stream authorization. For this purpose, we choose the "Specify channel credentials" option right next to the "Stream Key" field. Another window will appear where we need to enter our username and password - these are also visible on the Summary page.
That's all regarding the configuration of the connection between XSplit Broadcaster and the Storm Streaming Cloud. Below the connection settings popup, you will also find the settings for the encoder itself. We have described the entire encoder configuration in a separate guide called "Stream & Encoder".
